Power Question

How many things can I plug into one two wall sockets that are on the same strip without burning anything?

I'd hate to ruin my computer equipment because of stupidity.

I managed to plug two computers with 2 monitors running at the same time. If you overload it, you'll probably just break a circuit or blow a fuse which probably won't hurt your computer, but you might lose unsaved information. but I'm not expert.

Depending on how much other stuff is one the circuit

A Nema 15-5 outlet with proper wiring is rated for 15a/120v.

That should be enough for 5 high-end systems with CRTs, assuming you have decent powersupplies. Cheap ones without ActivePFC draw more current.

Based on a %60 efficiency curve and a 350w draw, that would be 3 computers. 350w with CRT is typical for most of the budget systems people around here are buying (winnie 3000, 2x512mb value, 2 hdds, 6600gt)

Cool. I always thought those residential outlets were weak but now I'll stick on of those Belkin UPS's in one socket and a regular Surge protector in the other.
