Power question for 4890

So I'm about to break down and buy that crazy 4890 deal but I started wondering: I heard PCI-E 2.0 slots provide more power than 1.0 slots. Will I be okay power-wise with my PCI-E 1.0 slot?

It doesn't really matter whether the power comes through the PCI-E slot or the 6-pin PCI-E connector. What's important is that your power supply can handle the max load of the card plus your other components.

Nono, that part I understand. What I mean is PCI-E 1.0 should give a lower maximum amount of power than 2.0 (it's not capable of delivering as much.) I'm just wondering if that ends up meaning the card will be underpowered.

The power through the PCIe slot is really just reserve. The main power comes from the 6-pin or 8-pin connectors on your vid card from your PSU.
