Power panel

the power button/led assembly on my evercase has shorted. Can i use one of those fancy internal power and fan control panels?

I personally do not know of any controllers that are designed to do this. I am sure you could rig one up somehow though. The power button itself is rather simple. Basically just 2 wires that are connected when you press the button. Are you sure it didnt come unsoldered or the wire didnt get severed or anything?

well, when i push the power button, i hear a short buzz and the led flashes for a second. I assume its a short circuit in the power panel/assembly. I have gone through and narrowed it down to the power button/lead. i have not tried using the reset button instead of the pow button. would it work?
I have used another case and the system posted.

The power and reset switches are both just two wires. When you push the power or reset button, it shorts them. That's it. You should be able to take it apart and figure it out. Just to be sure, though, hook the reset switch to the power switch header on the mobo and try it (the only difference is that the reset button is smaller).

I took the whole case apart and put in new i/o sheild, motherboard spacers and screws. The system is up and running
