Power of ATOT, help me find a lab coat!

So I've just decided that I'm flying to NYC for Halloween next weekend and now I need a costume. I've never been a big Halloween guy but if I'm going to do something, I'm going to do it right. (That's what she said, hey-yo)

Anyway, here's an example of NPH's getup from Dr. Horrible. I've tracked down the gloves, the boots and the goggles, but I need that labcoat. The company that that blog links to is OOS and someone is selling custom made coats on eBay for $130 shipped by next week.

I guess that in the UK, this style is commonly referred to as the "Howie" coat. I've found a couple of sites (like this) that have them but they're all overseas.

Does anyone in the US know how to describe it to find such a lab coat on google? The generic "mad scientist" costume on amazon and other sites is pretty close but I want the real thing.

Thanks in advance, I hope someone can come through for me. 🙂

Fisher supply isn't overseas. Most major Research institutions would have a supply store nearby. They have distributors all over the country, and they tend to deliver next day.

problem is, they are ridiculously overpriced.

How about one of those warehouses that supplies uniforms for service industry?

Egad, sorry. see you're coming from UK. you could always place an order from a place like Fisher and have them deliver to your buddy or wherever in NYC.
That particular style of lab coat, I'm not sure. It's from the 50s or so and you don't really see them anymore, at least not with doctors or research scientists.

No no, I'm flying in from Phoenix. I guess I'll have to find out where the local supply stores would be, but considering that ASU's Research Lab is right down the road, one would think that I could find such a place nearby. I know it's an older design, bah.

Otherwise I guess my backup will be Rorschach from Watchmen, which even fewer people will get. 😛
