that doesnt sound good.

So its just "ha, we're better because we have HDR, SM3, and sli!"?

isn't HDR on sm2 as well? isn't crossfire coming out soon...ok, they dont have sm3...

So this is great...yeah...so its just "get a card with SM3 because its not old?"

I'm a fan of SM3...but this is an uber disappointment IF this is true.

And that whole "vote for your favorite nvidia woman thingy" (in the original Po3 post)...yeah...did we get screwed over? so what was the timer for then...
GAH this is confusing.

yours was made before the countdown was over, and i was more or less just showing that its likely we wont see new cards right now. I just provided that other link which says there's likely to be no new cards.

I just think people will notice this more than if i posted it at the end of your thread, and i dont expect many people to say much in this thread, but i thought i'd just point it out.

Is it really old news though? i hadn't heard it was confirmed. So whatever its still just a rumor that nothing is coming, but i haven't seen the link i posted anywhere...i haven't looked though :D

i'll just put this in your thread now...for fun....

well, that was worth the wait.....lol...er not

well if this 7800GT ends up scoring somewhere ~ a 6800U, then i might buy the 6800U cuz i should be able to get that cheaper now...lol....then buy another a month down the line and SLI it...heh
wont know yet on both counts tho, havnt found a UK stockist yet, overclockers.co.uk havnt updated their website, or if they have then they lied and dont have the GT in stock...lol

edit: just checked ocuk deals of the week which changes every thursday, same as last week, guess they aint woken up yet.....lol

ok, i was gonna post this post, till my dad accidently yanked the phone line outta the wall without me realising.....wondered why it wasnt sending this one...lol

right, OP, your linky goes to a page with this quote which doesnt differ much on the linky they give you to the other page....

"I have been told that "Power of 3" is not a reference to any new cards from Nvidia or some new form of SLI. Power of 3 is likely referring to SLI, HDR and Shader Model 3.0, all feature ATI currently do not have in there line up"

rightyho, key word here is Power of 3 is LIKELY referring to SLI, HDR & SM3.0 blah blah.........so this site doesnt actually have ACCURATE knowledge from nVidia, its just speculation, but worded strongly enough to suggest they know the truth....even tho they dont, because if they did, the word likely wouldnt be used.......im not saying they are not right, im saying they dont know guaranteed they are right......most people should have picked up on that, i spotted it easily because i work in advertising and how you word something is more likely to attract attention (ie I have been told that, everyone loves gossip and assumes its true when its in print form, well, the silly people do..heh), but to cover their asses inserting a word such as 'likely' means they have not confirmed it, simply respeculated in their own way....lol

like i say, it probably is correct, all i can do is say i hope not and when nVidia wake up and sort out their website we will see specs for super uber dooper elite card plus the GT...heh

oh well, work calls, hope the news is better than the OP's linky....

I was seriously ROFL when I saw the nvidia site this morning.

Not so much a source of disappointment as it was a source of laughter.

Bwhah... hahahah.....hahahahahahahahh!

*cough....choke....gasp....wheeze*

ahahahahah!

So what's all this got to do with the release of the 7800gt? You could have bought a 6800gt a year ago with SLI, sm3 and HDR. What's the big deal?

omg, I would just pick the gtx because its $50 more and performs atleast 30% better in some games. Why would you waste the money? In some games, the gtx performs just as good at GTs in SLI.

As I predicted, this is turning into a x800pro/x800xt deal, theres no point in buying the lower performance one when theres a much better one at $50 more.

On the flip side, if they did another 6800GT/Ultra deal, there'd be no reason to get the ultra with the GT being pretty much as good...especially if overclocked.
