Power DVD or WinDVD?

bunker

I'm gonna break down and acutally *gasp* pay for some DVD software. Since WinDVD and Power DVD seem to be the big two I'm deciding between them. Anyone have any +'s or -'s about either?

*edit - I voted for PowerDVD just so I could see the results of the poll

Well, I paid for WinDVD 3.0 about three months ago. Worked fine in ME. Then I upgraded to XP Pro. WinDVD and Help/Support kept bugging me about the "free" download from Intervideo to update my WinDVD player for XP. I downloaded the file and tried to install it. It could not find my WinDVD installation, and didn't bother to ask me where it was so it quite.

The nags kept coming . . . day after day. I tried the on-line update . . . same result. Could not find the stupid program. I reached the point of frustration and e-mailed Intervideo asking them to help fix their dumb upgrade so it could be told where to look. No reply.

The next week I said "Up yours!" I went to Cyberlink and bought PowerDVD 4.0 which is perfect in XP. No problems.

I guess you can see where my sentiments lie. PowerDVD rules . . . WinDVD is big time suck! 😀

nah... WinDVD is the best...
