Power cords...the outlet to your power supply cord

Anyone have a good source for quality power cords that have a heavy gauge wire, 15A+ rating and can be found in lengths ranging from 6 to 9 feet? If you do, or if you have thoughts on what makes a quality power cord, feel free to post.

Thanks
Wes

My experince has been that unless it's a used OEM cable from a reputable manufacture, the cables appear to be thin gauge wires with heavy coatings of insulation on them to make them look thick. It's a freaking disappointment and can't be safe for those users who are drawing some serious current.

Thanks for the links.

IEC connectors (the 3 pin connectors used on PSUs) are only rated for 10 A, except for proprietary modified versions. As a result, IEC cables are almost always, rated for 10 A max.

For those high-power PSUs which use modified high-current connectors, you need to contact the manufacturer for advice as to where to buy a suitable connecting lead.

Monoprice sells 14GA, UL-listed, power cables for like $2 ea or something. I picked up ten of them a while ago. They're kind of slightly stiff, given the gauge of wire that makes sense. They should be good for 15A, at least.
