HI
I just got 4 Panaflo 92mm fans that were untailed. I want to put connectors on the fan leads. I prefer to make custom length leads for each fan in order to keep the inside of the case as neat as possible. One way to do this is to buy a few Y-connectors and just cut them and splice the connectors from the Y-connectors to the fan leads. Another way is to buy the pin connectors both male and female sockets and custom make them. The only problem is,, I can't remember the name of the connector used for the power leads or used to make the Y-connectors. The name of "Molex" comes to mind now.
Are there any sites out there that have the connectors I can use??
Thanks

Molex is what they are called, though I cannot think of any sites that sell these type of things though I know there are quite a few of them. I have bought a few from radio shack a while back and when I went in there the other day I noticed they still carried them so you might try them. I would also think that almost any other electronics store would carry these.

the 'Molex' connectors carried by RadioShack are NOT the same as the Molex connectors attached to PC power supplies; the 'indexing' shape of the plastic housings are different. i.e. they won't plug together!

the correct Molex connectors are available from many online sources; among them are, digikey.com, Jameco.com, and mouser.com

the biggest problem is that you will need to order a quantity of both the connectors and pins to nmeet a minimum order price

I'm looking for these to, but can't figure out which plugs are which at the electronics sites. I need to order about 40 of them too, so milisec.com or caseetc.com are out of the question (~$1.00/connector :Q) Can someone point me to where i can find these?

Or you could do what I'm about to do - buy 1 Y-splitter, cut one of the plugs of it and the fans, and use junction-block to marry the ends together, then hide the whole lot inside a little project box from radio-shack that can be screwed to the top of the case to keep it tidy
