I am only worried about toasting my computer, not so much staying on during outages. So, whats the cheapest option that will give me continuous power conditioning with out any switch over time? i do not NEED a UPS, but if its the cheapest option, then i will go for it. Please, Can you recommend specific products you like?

That looks like about what i am looking for. So i should probably also ask this before i buy any thing. Does this kind of conditioner provide the same protection as a UPS with continuous power, more protection, or less protection, and why does it work out that way? Also, how long does some thing like this usually last before it needs replacing?

It's going to provide more protection than a UPS most people have because it's not a cheap POS, and I plan to have mine for probably 20+ years unless I move to another country or USA changes the entire power distribution network... Why does it provide more protection? Read Furman's site.
