I am wanting to come up with a better way to manage cables in my PC. The IDe cables are not bad as they are not the ribbon type but the power cables are awful. What do you folks do to clean up power cables?

cut-off any and all you don't need. Or cut a hole and pass then between your motherboard tray and the side pannel. If you want to do so with them all then punch them back through right next to your drive will clean them up nicely.

I certainly wouldn't "cut off" any I didn't need. One word reason: Upgrade. I may need them at some point. I used some split-loom tubing from Home Depot and zip ties, and combined that with sticking unused cables behind my motherboard tray. I didn't even need to cut any holes are void my PSUs warranty.

am I the only one who used black electrical tape to "tube" their PSU wires?

I'd stay away from cutting the wires, unless you have one that you'll obviously never use (like the P4 wire in an AMD case)

That's what I do. Now I really just have one cable to the HDD and the ATX 12v cable showing.

My problem is that I have two fans in the back one on the side and the 5900 card requires it's own power supply outside of the agp slot. It makes for a big mess and also makes it difficult to put the cables behind the tray. I think I will probably just sleeve them.

thanks all

IF you have hidden the ones ones you don't use, and tubed the ones you do then their really isn't anything else you can do.

Hey Loki..., Electrical tape comes in colors besides black ;-) (I'm sure of at least red, green, blue and yellow)- a cheap and easy way to dress up those messy wires. Then use zip and/or twist ties to bundle them together and hold 'em out of the way.

Zip ties, like people have already mentioned, are a good way to clean and bundle up the excess power cables in your case.

In my Enlight 5237 what I do is tape the excess cables to the other side of my motherboard tray using electrical tape and then put the side panel on. This seems to work very well for me because not only does it get the excess wires out of my way and increase air flow through the case, it also leaves me with the ability to add additional devices requiring power because I've not "cut off" the cables I'm not currently using.

A lot of repeated information here, but I hope it helps you.
