power button

I was curious if anyone has heard of a USB device or something that could be used as a power button? I would think it would be easy since there are keyboards that can do this.

Not all motherboards support turing on by USB, so I don't think there can be a universal USB power button. If you're motherboard supports it though, you should be able to use your keyboard or mouse like monty said.

Yeah, you should be able to turn your PC on from the kbd or mouse. Check in the BIOS settings and/or manual. Or you could buy a remote control. My integrated USB ports died last night so I won't be testing any remote power on possibilities though I have used the KBD power up option in my BIOS - it worked.

hmm thanks, I do not want to get a new keyboard just for a power button, but you would think something other then a keyboard would have that ability. You see apple products that are made to do it but no PC
