What the hell is this? Here is the armor I was using before I got power armor training

Ranger Battle Armor
Damage Resistance 39
Weight 27
AP +5
LK +1
Small Guns +10

Yeah, that armor is pretty kick ass, right? But surely it's nothing compared to power armor. Here are my options

Enclave Power Armor
Damage Resistance 40
Weight 45
Rad Resistance +15%
ST +1
AG -1 (WTF?)

T-51b Power Armor
Damage Resistance 50
Weight 40
Rad Resistance +25%
CH +1

Brotherhood Power Armor
Damage Resistance 40
Weight 45
Radiatino Resistance +10%
ST +2
AG -2

What the hell is this garbage? The extra strength is completely negated by the higher weight (since ST = +10 weight capacity), the armor rating is pretty much identical, and I'm losing agility as a consequence! What gives? Why is the ranger battle armor so much better than power armor?

The ranger battle armor is pretty difficult to get. You have to fight through a whole damn multi-story hotel full of super-mutants to get it, never mind getting to the Underworld in the first place....

Only power armor worth wearing is the T-51b

It's really not difficult to get - there are only a few masters in the hotel, and you don't have to fight through the *whole* hotel if you're willing to just follow your quest marker.

There's even a part where you can skip several stories by repairing the elevator. Piece of cake. You can take out the whole place pretty easily if you have at least a Chinese Assault Rifle.

And you remarked on the worst part of all, isn't the T-51b supposed to be outdated? Why is the Enclave power armor so crappy? I just don't get it.

Those are the two opposing ends as I saw it. If you take Ranger Armor, I think your char is supposed to be built around sneaking and small guns, whereas if you went with Power Armor, your char would be going for big guns.

I'm going for the Ranger Armor.

And what about a character built around energy weapons? In any case, I didn't have to do any sneaking around and wiping out the super mutants in the hotel isn't tough. There are only a few masters in the whole building

Yeah, I was kind of disappointed when I got the power armor. The agility hit really sucks, as does the low weight bonus. It used to be practically mandatory for the latter parts of the games in the series. I'm glad that there's less obvious choice in armor, but it's still supposed to be really good in some way.

Anyone using the Prototype Medics Power Armour?

Apart from being annoying and shouting at me, it seems to be perfectly pointless.

I am also disappointed with Deathclaws, Ive been in the nest a lot today and it feels like Counterstrike. BOOM Headshot, one dead Deathclaw. The Unique Sniper Rifle + 100 Sneak and Finesse (Extra Crits), Deathclaws are falling to one single sneak critical sniper round to the head.

Never had 2 at a time yet.

I have to say that the Power Armour does suck in FO3 apart from looking super cool!! but I suppose if it was like WH40k Power Armour, we'd be virtually unkillable :)

Also, where can I find large collections of Enclave? Im loving my Plasma Pistol but I want a bigger and better one, with some for repairs :)

How can armor give bonuses to weapon usage? Like the Power Armor giving +10 to Small Guns, it's not a fantasy world, I don't get it, is there any sort of tubing coming out of it and going to the weapon which in turn increases its damage somehow or something like that? I swear that game needs some mods. And generally speaking, yes I agree, Power Armors suck in Fallout 3, I'm still using my Reilly's Ranger Armor, and I've used a Talon Armor for too long to be considered normal.

Using it at all wouldn't be normal since regular Combat Armor is better (if uglier).

I don't even have PA training yet and I'm already disappointed in it :(

The AGL-2 for standard PA might be OK except that damages your action points for VATS :| !

In downtown D.C. You have to go through Our Lady of Hope Hospital. No idea how to get there, the place is a maze.

I'll give you a clue, well, in fact two, which are both spoilers that will let you reach the place, so yeah, spoilers ahead...

First, go to Underworld (Museum of History, inside it there's big doors with a concrete half-skull above, that's the entrance to Underworld), find the clinic and see what's going on in there with the patient especially. That's the first clue (I.E find a way to speak to that patient). Second clue, Metro Central and Dupont Station. Hope it helps, I've already said a lot.

The trick is to head into Underworld (Museum of History, right on the Mall) and talk to Reilly, who is resting in the Doctor's office. And then you can just follow the quest directions.

Edit: It's not really a spoiler, since you should go to Underworld at one point or another.

The biggest insult about Power Armor is the shit Sarah gives you at the end of the game. What is this garbage Sarah? I wasn't wearing this back at level 10, what makes you think I'm gonna wear this garbage now?

Tesla Armor is great and plentiful in the field to make repairs with from your downed foes. I took the 50+ weight perk, so the extra bulk is quite inconsequential. You get a boost to energy weapons (plasma rifles and ammo are also everywhere to be found on downed Enclave) and rad resistance too FWIW.
