Powell Resigned

Serious question - what does it mean, if anything, that all these guys are resigning for Bush's second term? Is this normal, but I never noticed before? Did a lot of Clinton ppl. resign after his second term?

Powell, I'm sure, was given that as one of two options. At least he gets to leave in full disgrace.
I hope he comes out with a follow-up to My American Journey and call it something like My Bushwhacked Journey.

Oh, the secrets that man could reveal....

That dumb b!tch needs to be summarily FIRED! Along with Rumsfeld.

I don't know if there have ever been more incompetent buffoons in those positions as those two.

This happens more often than not. The default assumption with cabinet members is that they won't serve a second term.

Rice should be Secretary of Defense. She is very knowledgeable regarding matters of security.
Rice couldn't tell the difference between a terrorist and a priest. Worst NSA, ever. Hell, she flat-out lied to the 9/11 Commission!

Secretary of State Powell Resigns
http://story.news.yahoo.com/ne...5/pl_nm/bush_powell_dc
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Secretary of State Colin Powell (news - web sites) has resigned and the White House is expected to make the announcement on Monday, U.S. officials said.

"The Secretary announced to his staff this morning that he had submitted his resignation on Friday. He said he was staying on until a successor is confirmed and on board," a State Department official, who asked not to be named, said.

An administration official also said Powell had said he would stay on "until such a time as a replacement is named."

Powell, becomes the latest high-level member of President Bush (news - web sites)'s cabinet to announce plans to leave following the election.

Powell was often seen representing more moderate views on foreign policy in the Bush administration.

Isn't that the black Ann Coulter?
You must be thinking of Coco Johnson. Like Ann she is a former fsck buddy of Bill Maher.

According to the WSJ, John Danforth is where most of the speculation is being centered. I heard his name mentioned a week or so ago, too, re: being a replacement for Powell.

Also, apparently Spence Abraham (Sec'y of Energy) and two *others* are announcing their resignations today.

After Powell, Spencer Abraham has resigned as well from the Energy Department.

There are at least two more as yet not announced, but supposedly will today.

This is on top of Ashcroft the Attourney Genital, and Don Evans from Commerce.

Bush purging not only the CIA of "disloyal" people but also purging his Cabinet from those fed up with Washington or seen as lightning rods of controversy.

I cannot wait for Powell to write a book about the past 4 years...of course all of you righty apologists will say he is another nut like PO, RC, and others from this admin who wrote books after they left....and Cheney will say Powell was out of the loop....

He won't do it. As much as it needs to be written, he won't.
