Silly Canucks. Come on over the border and get a garbage plate. At least we NYers call it what it looks like, rather than some silly French word.

Or, is it "Poutine" "Garbage Plate" on your silly bilingual menus?

only bilingual if you not in Quebec. English is against the law there.

Its French Canadians (Canadiens) are fucking lucky :)
i do believe this originated in Quebec and depending on who you talk to
there .. are or are not Canadian :)

but i am Canadian and i have never had that. I do like fries. i do like gravy. i do like cottage cheese. but not sure if i want all 3 of them all at same time.

it's actually not cottage cheese... it's cheese curds.

It's definitely an eastern Canadian thing. We hardly ever see it out west.

I must admit that when I lived in Ontario, I did indulge occasionally, but damn that stuff is a heart attach on a plate.

Come to Clarkes in Manassas Park.
He makes poutine and a hundred other canadian dishes.
Good stuff.
Also, hot waitresses.

Thanks for the tip. I will be checking that place out the next time I remember and it's an off hour to avoid traffic. Unfortunately, 66 is a parking lot most of the day.

so i tried the gravy fries at the hat, which is probably the closest thing to poutine for me within a 20 mile radius.

Poutine really does rock. I had some a few weeks ago. Every now and then I have to get it because its delicious. It is obviously not great for the body, but you have to endulge now and again.
