Potentially hot - Fry's now does 110% pricematching

Dunno if they used to, but I was at the new Fry's in the City of Industry and they have a flyer at the returns desk that mentions a 110% price guarantee. Is this new?

Wow! Does that include Internet retailers? Is there a deadline after a purchase from Frys if you found the same product cheaper elsewhere?

They're always offered a B&M pricematch on in-stock items (at least in the Bay Area), but I don't think it was 110%. Guess they're trying to corner more of the B&M market.

I suspect the prices at Outpost are EXACTLY the same !

Fry's B&M usually offers better sales, esp. CPU/mobo combos, that often can't be found on Outpost.

ah i hate fry's...
it's such a hassle to get anything done or any service there....

and the employees don't konw anything about computers.

but yea, they have decent deals sometimes...

good luck w/your pricematching -- i bet that there will be tons of "exceptions"

Actually the 110% Pricematch has been there for years... You just have to "remind" the CSRs to give it.

Don't even bother to PM over at Fry's. It's a pain in da rear cuz asking them to PM is like telling them to pull their teeth! The 110% PM gaurantee has been there for years(look at the fine prints at the bottom of Fry's ad), but it seems like their system were never able to do that. At most it will just PM at the same price.

Yah, I agree . . . PMing with Fry's is a waste of time. The manager always seems to figure out some lame excuse. The few times that I've tried they pulled the "only b&M pricematching," "wait let me call them . . . 30 minutes later sorry we couldn't get through". Fry's customer service is a joke . . . but who knows maybe their new stores will have more incentive to sell so PM might work there.

Personally I found Fry's (Manhattan beach) service and sales people to be much improved recently. There are more of them on the floor so you don't have to walk a quarter mile to find them, they largely speak English, and seem to have basic knowledge of their department. They can't wire a network, but they can help you find stuff.

My peave is that they don't flag displays for items in the ads (so you have to go around poking at product codes) and they don't post the ads around the store (a sales guy told me that's because customers kept swiping them). You gotta love their assembly line cash register setup. They get good throughput.

did anyone confirm whether or not the new frys in city of industry, was originally stocked with new equipment, i assume by now 3 weeks after opening its back to its normal of EVERYTHING being a returned item.

i went on a mission once at frys to find something that was of substance ie: not cheap crap like headphones or junk, that was NEW, i think i found 1 item after a search of about 1 hr, cant remember what it was tho... unless its an advertised item, you will only find returned motherboards.

i think that is crap. where can they keep getting all this returned equipment, i cant believe that ALL the stock is returned in house, they have to be getting it from somewhere.

Fry's is great about price protection from their own ads, but not as good
about PMing someone else. They really want to check if it is in-stock, which
always seems odd since in many cases you are asking for PM on a previous
purchase (doesn't need to be in-stock when you are asking for the PM as
long as it was ever in stock during the ad period).

frys sucks.

their service has to be the worst in the world.

The line that I have heard the most is :
you have to go to the kiosk

even if the salesthing (they do not qualify as salesman/saleswoman), is standing there twiddling its thumbs.

even if they pricematch, you are probably getting an opened item, so that is not worth it either.
