Potential Toshiba PDA OS upgrade for e740 and e300 series for nominal charge, mod please allow this

I saw this on Brighthand and went ahead and signed. I also sent an email to web inquiries telling them about issues with my e335 and how an OS upgrade will resolve them.

<--owns an e335 from the May 01 hot deal.

Toshiba has started to relise how big of a problem the lack of support for the e740 is. They have changed their public statment a few times in the last week or so. Hopefully they'll decide to do something about it. Lets try and help by getting as many people to sign the petition as possible.

I signed too, but I fear there is a internal memory issue that can not be solved easily... That's prob why they didn't uprgrade these units... Someone prove me wrong.

Thanks for the information - I had wondered why I hadn't heard about an operating system upgrade - got my E335 from Office Depot with their great rebate deal in May (Another ANARDTECH deal discovery) so I can't complain as much as those that paid full retail. My previous Compaq IPAQ - I paid $24.95 for their previous operating system upgrade - I didn't realize that the 2003 software upgrade was supposed to increase performance - don't do WIFI or internet with mine so most of the other features are not useful to me.

Nah....the e330/5 and 740 have plenty of storage for 2003. They're just trying to play the Microsoft "We have a new product and everyone must upgrade to that new product because we don't want to support products we're not making money on anymore."

Thats the thing I dont quite understand..........
they could make some more $ on the upgrades.. just think they don't feel like creating one

I have complained at the better business bureau. They have a huge impact on large, ignorant companies that want to keep their high rating. I also mentioned the 6000 petitions that they ignored!
