Are they great prices... not sure. From the look of it you pay retail for the hardware and get the Software for Free.

These bundles are a good - my resale sell price on the first bundle is about $685.00

Also - FYI, from AMD's email:
**THIS BUNDLE IS INTENDED ONLY FOR SOLUTION PROVIDERS/SYSTEM BUILDERS. AMD AND MICROSOFT REQUIRE A TAX ID TO QUALIFY FOR THIS OR ANY TECH TOUR BUNDLE.

I may have gone ... But in Eugene oregon I'd have to take some time off for one...

At almost 3 bucks a gallon looks like it would cost about 140 bucks in gas round trip... Not to mention I'd want to stay over night. Since for me driving all that way....

It would be around 160-180 bucks depending if you had to get parking etc...etc... Then have a really bad back from driving all day and night...

Nah...... If there was a portland event like last time I could see going I guess.

Good Luck to all selling the NFRS copy of Windows 2003 server... Last time there was a crap load on ebay as I am sure there will be again...

What exactly do they do with that tax id?

I'm looking for the LINK!!! to regester for the tour, Anyone know were info about it is??? I can't get my hands on any real info whatsoever

2 methods:

1. Receive a direct email invite from AMD (if you attended last year); or

2. go here: www.marketbuilder3.com
a. create an account as a solutions provider (you need a tax id)
b. wait for the account approval (2-3 days)
c. when approved and log back in and you will see a link for the 2006 tour
d. sign up for the event, wait for the passcode <10 min) , repeat c, the enter passcode info then purchase!

Getting a business tax ID is not a problem for me...I actually handle most of the computer problems at my work place. My bro also runs a business as does my dad. However, the bundles just suck. I don't need the server bundle and after reselling everything in it but keeping the processor, I might as well just buy an Opteron 165 from places like Newegg, considering gas + time wasted going there and the hassle of reselling the parts I don't need. As for the desktop bundle, why no Athlon64 X2 3800+? The rest of the reasons for my disliking the desktop bundle are pretty much the same as the server bundle.
