Could they be any more confusing?

Just got back from the Tampa show. There wasn't nearly as many people as I thought would be there. They had a whole lot of bundles that didn't get picked up either.

Seeing as how there were only a handful of people, we actually all got a free ATI 850XTPE PCI-e card to go along with the new desktop bundles. Food was great, short lines. I'll definitely be going back next year!

Could anybody post some pictures of the DESKTOP combo? Does it look just like a retail box? How about the cd?

Thanks,
Robin

Another sad day in the forums.

So many people yet not one able to post some pictures. 🙁

another sad day indeed.....

Same here, I actually got two of the cards. Wasn't as crowded as i thought it would be.

Did you score any extra bundles? I wish I would have brought another credit card so I could have gotten another set.

yeah for real...I could've flown to Tampa from Philly for like $230 and it would've cost less than buying one of those cards!

😛 See you guys there today

I am will be attending the burbank show. I'm gonna to hustle up $250 bucks some how. I think I'll sell my socket 754 a643000+ mobo to a friend for around $175 and hustle up the rest.

Question: How does the preorder process work? DO they charge the $250 to your Credit card before you pick it up, or do they just use your information for a presale?

They charge your credit card beforehand. If you don't show up and pick up your bundle, they credit it back.

I?ll be attending the Houston show, and I have the desktop bundle on order.
Should I order the server bundle also and sell it? Any input would help thank.

NFR...If you care

Guys, just a hint. If you are ordering other hardware to go with your new setups, DON'T wait until the last minute like me.

I am getting the desktop bundle today in Tampa. I already ordered a new PSU and PCI-e video card, which I have. But I waited too long and didnt order my new RAM and CPU cooler in time, and it looks like some stuff isn't going to be here until Thursday. So I might have to let all this new hardware sit around until then. Ugh! Granted, I could install the set-up without the XP-90, but I hear its much easier with the MB out of the case, so I guess I'll just wait to make it easy on myself.

Also, call Asus and get them to ship the replacement northbridge heatsink and fan. I also here it's almost impossible to put this on with the MB in place. So if you're getting the A8N-E, just go ahead and get the replacement fan sent out now.

I'm doing the exact opposite. I want to make sure I get my bundles before I order more parts. That way, in case something happens and I can't get there, I don't have all this hardware that I can't use.

Is the AMD64/ASUS bundle going to be a worthwhile improvement over my current DFI LanParty 754/AMD64 3000+ setup? I know the bundle is at a cheap price but $250 is still $250. Thanks.
