Ok heres the story. My friend Al was high and tried to OC his computer by upping the refresh rates.
Anyways he bumped it up to around 200 when his max is supposed to be 70 on his viewsonic monitor.

NOW his monitor wont turn on but he can hear his pc booting.

So my question is. How can i fix his problem so his monitor will turn back on?
would resetting the jumper on the mobo work??

He overclocked his monitor. Wheeeeeeeee. LOL. Anyways, if this is serious:

The refresh rate should be ok for the monitor when the pc is posting. The one he set shouldn't kick in until windows initializes. If you can't even see the PC post, the monitor may be dead. Will the monitor config menus display?

running a monitor far over refresh rate specs can result in damage to the screen. I'd guess that he did some irreversible damage to the monitor. First try it on another computer, if you get nothing, then it's time for a new one!

Dopefiend: You are assuming the Monitor CRT is still able to produce an electron stream. I'm assuming the 200hz fried the CRT's electron gun.
