Is there any way to list all the posts you have made. Cause sometimes I remember posting something but can't find the thread. Its nice to just have to guess around the right day then look at your posts for that day. Tomshardware lists all the post you have made for your convenience. Do you have any such thing here?

BuddyAtBzboyz, you can click on the "today" button in the upper right hand corner or subscribe to post you want to follow, hope this helps :)

Just use the search feature, and search for posts by you.

Ok both helpful suggestions but for the first it only tells me the posts for that day, which doesn't help if I'm looking for posts before. It also tells me my subscriptions, but sometimes I forget to subscribe. Is there a way to make it so you are automatically subscribed to posts you respond to? The second one seems to be more promising except that you have to search for a word in your post and can't just search for your name as far as I know. I tried and it gave me an error.

no, you can just input a user (no further search terms) and get all of their (non-archived) posts. I just did it for your username. No errors :)

Thanks for the quick response but also how long does stuff have to be innactive b4 it becomes archived cause if I can't search archived stuff that would suck a bit. Does subscribing allow you to search archived stuff? Also searching only allows me to find the threads I wrote to not the individual posts. Is there a way to find all the posts I made? Does subscribing allow this?

You can access archived posts even if you're not a subscriber.

Becoming a subscriber gives you the capability to do full-text searches, i.e. search the body of a post rather than just the title.

Regardless of whether you subscribe, you can still find posts by a specific person using the method described above. But as far as I know, threads are stored as threads, not a series of posts, so you wouldn't be able to search for just a specific post in a thread -- you'd retreive the whole thread, not just the post. But, you can find a thread even if the person you're looking for isn't the thread originator (i.e., if you posted in a thread, and you later ran a search on your name, that thread would be returned, even if you didn't start the thread). You would simply have to search through the thread manually to find any specific post. Use your browser's Find (on a page) feature to help you out with this. I could be wrong about this part though -- I'm not a subscriber (but what I described makes sense given what I can tell about the way the forums work).

I hope this all makes sense.

edit: BTW I re-read the this thread again and it seems you might be confused about the Filtering feature in the search function. You only have to enter one thing in the "Main Search Criteria" to have a valid search -- a search phrase (search thread titles), and/or a post author. Select either Current Messages or Archived Messages directly below. Everything under "Filtering" is optional (even though it says 'Select' in the drop-down box, you don't have to select anything) -- if you don't specify a time-frame, all current messages will be searched. Make sure to select at least one Forum Category if you want any results. Selecting a particular one will help you whittle down your search, while clicking 'Select All' will give you a complete listing of posts in all forum categories.

Thank you. This is what I needed to hear. I think I will subscribe so I can search for something I said in the body text instead of just the title which I'm sure I'll forget ;)

The Today link will list the last 20 posts you have made regardless how long its been, as long as the thread is still active. Not just what you posted today.

Of course if you post like mad, it COULD be just a single days post.

2 hours for me.

I subscribed #1 for the search function. finding stuff in the body of the post was so much easier than looking in just the title.

also, the 1000 pm limit is good too. I recomend that everyone subscribes. Cheaper than dirt for a site you actually use.

Well searching looks like it will be my number 1 reason for subscribing. Now I just need to convince someone to let me borrow their credit card ;)
