Postnuke/PHPuke/Movable Type (other CMS?)

I'm just wondering if any of you out there have any experience with these CMS systems. I've installed Movable Type, and it seems cool, mostly just because it's not as complex as the *nuke systems. One thing I want, however, is an integrated photo album thingee, and I don't know if MT supports this. I know there are a bunch of (overly) complex add-ins for this sort of thing with the *nuke systems, but I'm wondering how integrated they are. For example, if I have some writings on, say, a trip to Taipei, with associated keywords, as well as some photos of Taipei, I'd like them both to show up when someone searchs for Taipei (i.e. if the photoalbum has it's own search, that's not so good).

Anyone have any clue what I'm talking about? =]

I like just about everything about MT (especially the fact that it's just an HTML generation engine, so almost nothing is generated on the fly, which is really nice...) but there are just some things it doesn't do (I don't believe you can have nested "categories" and the like). It's simply just not anywhere near as powerful as *nuke. Now, I might not need all that power, but there are a couple of things that I really need my site to do, and if MT can't do them, I'll have to go another direction.

Then I suppose check out Tiki. *Nukes are all pretty much looked down upon by php people, and php people are already pretty bad coders in general, so that tells you something 😉

Well, I think a PHP "programmer" is sort of an oxymoron.

But I'll certainly check out Tiki.

Wow.

That's all I have to say.

So far, it seems like it has EXACTLY what I need (one feature that MT doesn't have is a file-gallery, which I want just so I have some online redundancy and availibility for the files I use for my thesis/dissertation. It'll also be handle to organize my bibliography and stuff)

I haven't actually installed it, but so far it looks great.

Thanks!

Have you had a chance to install it yet?

I'm trying to poke around the forum at sourceforge but I just keep seeing blank pages (?). Just trying to find an install guide to figure out what I need to download and how to install it

it says all you have to do is upload it. make the mysql file and then run a .php install tiki file and it should do it fine. just have to have chmod on some folders done correctly. i haven't had time to do it though. microprocessors final tomorrow. once i'm done with finals and exams and projects i'll try to get on this. hopefully it'll work ok with my current phpbb forum that isn't actually all that great anyway.
