Today I had to finally admit to myself that I've been scammed and stolen from by a person in TA :-(

It all began last November when I was in TA irc, and a person said he was selling a motherboard in here forums. I looked it just by curiosity at it seemed ok. I'm in .fi and seller is was in .us tho.

I had chatted with him a bit earlier, and thought he seemed okay dude. I suggested him that I'll buy the mobo and that he gets also a XP for it since they are much cheaper in the .us. He agreed and I sent him the money.

Some time later he confirmed that the money had arrived (albeit after being taking 2x the normal time). Then he said he proceeded to order the XP. After some asking he said he sent the package via USPS. He didn't give any tracking number tho.
After twice the time had passed for the package to arrive, I started asking him you sure everything's okay, etc. Then after some weeks he told me that "the package had been found in some USPS warehouse". And promised he would send it again, this time via UPS.

At one point he told me had mailed it again via UPS, but after it had not been arrived (once again) he admitted he hadn't sent it.

After that, whenever I ask him to mail them or even sell the stuff and even return some money, he makes just another excuse and that "he'll send it next week, honest!"'.

Well, I've waited long enough, over 4 months. I kinda knew how this was going to be, but I just didn't want to admit that something like this would happen to me. Time to count it as loss and move on I suppose.

The amount of money wasn't that big, it's just that I don't even want ever go back to TA irc just because of this :-(.

I have been here only a short time, but this is the first time I hear of a TeAm member not being honest! :disgust:

Everyone is very helpfull and friendly, from what I gather!, but there's always a rotten aplle in every bushell!! :|

I am in Canada, and if I if you want, I canget these things for you and let you have them at 1/2 price! I can fax you the receipts or send them
with the hardware. I only expect you to pay me after and only after you receive the goods! How's this sit with you?

Sorry to here this.............you need to contact one of the OP's in IRC and get copys of the logs, and any copies of e-mails you have and head over to the FS/FT forum and get this person put on the TROLL list

This is not a good thing and we don't like to see this happening here.........please do let someone know so this won't happen to others from this person.

Ask him to refund your money one last time and if he refuse, definitely contact the troll hunters and put this llama in jail. You have waited long enough to deal with him.

I am under the impression this person is from the DC TeAm!!, why would Postman start a thread in here otherwise?

If the person is from the TeAm then I think we all need to know. It reflects badly on us if one of our own is guilty of being a troll. Postman, if the person who perpetrated this on you is from the TeAm, I will do whatever I can to help you recover either money or the items.
 
I'm sorry about what happened to you, in particular because it was someone from our forum, but please contact the Troll Hunters with all the info that you have and they will take care for you, Paf077 I tip my hat to you, that is a honorable offer that reflect the spirit that most of us share here in the forum.

I hereby offer one of my combines to chop up the guilty party and use them as fertilizer on the Farm. 🙁

On second thought, I'll just chop them up. I don't want their poison hurting production on any of my acres. :|
 
I'm sorry to hear that someone did this VERY BAD thing to you. Please let us know who is this person.
 
Oh my...:| Postman, if you'd be so kind to tell us, or at least myself via PM, I'd be more than happy to get an IRC ban up on the person, and worse.
 
Sorry to hear about this, but I'm not sure how the post helps anything. If any of us know the person involved we can't help you without knowing who it is. 🙁 I have a hard time believing it is someone active in DC, but as we do occassionally.often sell to each other, it is very bothersome.

Again, if we had names we could at least look into it. What IRC server? What IRC channel? Nick? Let us know... WE will do what ever we can...

I second what everyone else has said, contact the troll hunters, post their FORUM name in FS/FT, get the logs & proof of the conversation.

I also toss in my titanium cane, so you can *WHACK* em good. In fact, let's all take turns once we find out who it is. That kind of crap isn't tolerated around here. :|
 
I think I know who Postman is talking about and remember him having conversations with the person; one excuse he made was sending the package by Surface mail (which could take 6 weeks) and then saying he sent it by UPS. I will ban the person from the IRC server once his identity is confirmed by Postman.

Postman, pop onto IRC in the next 3 hrs, no need to join a chan if you don't want to, just /msg me. 🙂

I've got logs, I am going through them right now to find said person, once I do, I will who was them, and get BKehoe, to give me a hand tracking them down. maybe they are due for a phone call. sorry to hear this happened postman :|.
 
Please don't post the person's name on the forums. I would also request that it doesn't get emailed out to too many people. I have contacted friends of the person to find out what's going on. I know this person has been quite busy, but it really doesn't sound like them to do this. Let me dig up some info before we go ban crazy. I'm sorry that this happened, but I believe that it's better to try to solve this with a happy ending. If your willing to /msg me in irc the nick of the person (to make sure I do remember correctly), I will be happy to help get this solved.

I will second what LD has said, dont post their name. we in IRC are all working together to try and figure out exactly what happened and how we can get it corrected. thats all Im gonna say at the moment until we have more concrete evidence and more to report. BKehoe, LD, ViRGE, and myself are all working on it.
 
Sorry to hear that postman. 🙁 But for every troll, their are many that are honest here at AT.
