lol, that's what I noticed. he has "attitude"

Actually, I was wondering if he ever puts a camp fire screen saver on to make it look like his fireplace is lit.

I don't see what the problem is having it in the fireplace. Fireplaces are an anacronism these days, unless you want to fill your lungs with a wide range of toxins produced from the burning of wood or fossil fuels.

You don't have to deal with either of those with a proper fireplace.

You shouldn't have overscan issues unless your display is not native 1080p resolution. I have the same problems running DVI to my Sony Grand WEGA III--the resolution is 1366x768 or something funky like that. Even when I get powerstrip to do its native resolution, it still overscans (but I think its because this older Sony doesn't accept DVI resolutions outside of HD-spec, idiots won't even take their native res!! :|)

You might be able to fix the overscan though if you're willing to tinker with your TV's service menu.

Gas fireplace FTW! Nothing cozier on a cold day than a fireplace. Also, you're supposed to have a chimney with a wood burning fireplace so that bad stuff doesn't fill up your lungs. Maybe that's why you didn't like yours so much?

Trust me, you would have a different opinion on fireplaces if you lived in New England. If you get caught in a blizzard and the power goes out, that fireplace might be the only thing keeping you from freezing.
