So far I'm pretty impressed. Its very responsive and the 3g is great. Loaded the forums in the same amount of time as my broadband.

Apparently the G1 does not have all the most advanced features. Such as alerting you to the fact that we have a phone forum. Zzzzzing!

I'm getting mine tomorrow morning. I saw a video review comparing browser speed - the G1 was loading pages 20% faster than the iPhone, pretty impressive. Of course, whether that's indicative of the comparative 3G networks in that area, or the phone itself, don't know...but still, impressive.

Before I had the t-mobile dash, pocket pc phone edition, hp6315, and the sidekick. I've tethered with my dash, and the 3g data rate is far superior to edge.

I'm really liking android, interface is smoother than what I've read in reviews. I've only had it out of the box for about 10 minutes but I like it.

im not posting a full review or asking questions. i thought off topic was a better place to make the thread.

Indicative of the shittyness of the iPhone's 3G radio, surely. When it came out people were saying it was only 2x as fast as EDGE iPhone, whereas my BlackJackII tethered to my laptop pulls ~1.2-1.4 mbit/s regularly.

I've had the G1 since last Friday. Great phone. I sold my Curve to get this phone and I couldn't be happier.

I'm...."sidegrading" (can't really call it an upgrade) from an N95. Mainly because I'm on T-Mobile which runs on a different 3G band than the N95. I figure I'll try it out, keep whichever I like better, and sell the other.

Too bad the idiots who designed it did not include a 3.5mm headphone jack!

I am done messing with adapters and dongles, etc.

I wouldn't mind trying one out, but T-mobile sucks in this area. CDMA providers are way ahead of GSM in coverage here.

Got mine today. Seems pretty sweet. I love the real keyboard but I wouldn't mind a simple on-screener (maybe even a T9 component to the dialer they already have) for shorter things like searching for a contact. The 3G is so much faster than Edge. OS is smooth - I really like the trackball, sometimes you just don't want to use the touch screen. I loved the trackball on my old Curve so it's a welcome addition.

So far so good.
