nice guys! I was considering the 13'' but the dual vid card sold it for me hahaha... so how are you guys all liking it? TheStu I've been saving up for mine for months hahaha... plus its an excuse to buy a new laptop since I need one for school and I don't own one previously. Don't worry when the quad cores comes around you can be the first one in line to get it.

Side note. Anyone of you guys use ATT DSL? I'm over at my gf apartment and the internet works kind of slowly. But it speeds up and slows down. My impression of DSL is that it maintains the up/down speeds since its a dedicated line? Its not like the line is receiving any phone calls either. The down speed is supposed to be at 6m but i forgot what hte upspeed is. Since its a 2wire modem/router, i think there might be a compatibiliy issue for the wireless?

I hope to have enough saved up to get it before the back to school promotion ends since I will be giving my old MacBook to my sister for her schooling, and since I am giving it to her for free, we are using her ID to purchase the laptop.

Which MBPs did you guys get, what specs?

Im going to buy a MBP 15, originally I was sold on just getting the 2.53ghz model and upgrading the HD myself and be done with it. But now the video card in the 2.66ghz model is tempting me. Do you think the dual video card is worth the extra $300?

Yah I got the 2.66 cause of the video card. I think 300 is worth it for te extra stuff that goes into it. But he price might not be the deciding factor for some people. I wish the 13" have the same type of specs cause that is way more portable.

Thestu. Would you consider purchasing from macmall or macconnection? They seem to have good rebates year round.

I might, it all depends on timing, and whether or not I want an 8GB Touch. Since Tyranicus is selling me his old 16GB iPhone, I probably won't. So really, I'll just wait and see what is the cheapest when I am finally able to pull the trigger. Who knows, maybe there will be some refurbs available, and I can get the entry level MBP13 for a couple hundred bucks off maybe.

What monitor do you have hooked up to it?

I have a 22'' Dell at home. I'm actually moving out for school so while im at my apartment I won't have the monitor with me. Which is also the other reason why I chose the 15'' since it'll be more "comfortable" staring at it hours at a time.

Injury wishes he had the fat cash to get a fully loaded Mac Pro... but he'd also settle for the cash to have a nice dandy iMac. ;)

Ahh... if only it were the same as throwing together a PC with the parts you can dig up on FS/FT...

I got the 2.8 cause it has 6MB L2 vs. 3MB for the slower procs. Upgraded to the 7200 RPM 500 GB drive as well

I just got a 15" MPB today. I got the "basic" 15" version, not the 2.66Ghz. Oh well, still a lot better than my netbook, I just couldn't stand that thing anymore.

How do you guys like the weight? I feel that the 13.3" will be pushing it with a textbook in my backpack.

Weight is OK for me, but all I carry is the MBP and power adapter, no books.
