Okee doke, a friend asked me to post this for him :)

I am installing this fresh from the box. It boots. Detects CPU and Memory. It stalls on "Detecting IDE Drives" I have an LG burner and a WD40GB 8mb Cache drive. When the HD is connecting, it hangs there. It doesn't freeze, but it hangs. When I take off the drive, it boots further, but still doesn't detect the LG Burner. I have tried all 5 jumper settings. Tried it without the jumper. I have cleared the CMOS. I have restored default BIOS aswell. Tried different cables, power connectors and still no dice. The drive was in working order in a previous system. Thank you in advance for any help! :)

System: AMD 2500+, 2 x 256 Infineon PC3200, NF7-S, Enermax 300W PSU

Thanks to Vegetto for posting this for me.

The complete System Specs:

ABit NF7-S Rev 2.0
2 x 256 Infineon PC3200 Ram.
Barton 2500+
WD40GB 8mb Cache
LG 12x8x32 Burner.
Enermax 300W Dual Fan Power Supply.
ATI 9700 Pro

I'm out of ideas. There were alot of issues like this on the ABit website, however either people fixed it and didn't report back, or never fixed it.

Any help would be great.
Thanks

Well.

I swapped the primary drive cord into secondary... and it booted... I pluged everything back in... and it worked... I'm not sure what happened... how it worked...

Thanks though.
