I have the same lappy though I run a OC'd Dothan (400MHz CPU on the 533MHz bus with pin and voltage mods) will upgrade the HD and give 7 a try on it sometime.

On the old NFS-7 system in the Sig....

3.2 Overall

CPU 3.2

Memory 4.5

Graphics 4.2

Primary HD 5.1 (and old 80Gb)

Works nice...... 😀

Just put it on my '05 Dell I-9300 Laptop. Replaced the old Fujistu 80GB with a WD 250GB. Overclocked CPU and slightly Overclocked Geforce Go6800 w/256Mb

CPU - 4.1

Memory - 4.4

Graphics - 5.6

Gaming Graphics - 4.4

HD - 5.1

Works great for everything except games, they do major Stutters or even lock up. Have tried Vid, Sound, Network drivers, Compatibility and Admin modes all to no avail. Worked on great on XP, must be something simple but I can't figure it out.....

It appears a SSD is necessary to achieve an overall score of 6 or higher. A lot of drives seem to be assigned 5.9. I have a Velociraptor and it scores the same as my daughter's WD 500 GB Black. I would hope the Velociraptor is faster since it cost 3x, or so, more than the Black.

I get a 5.9 overall myself. But, I get a 7.5 on proc, 7.4 for gaming graphics and aero, and 7.9 for memory. I have the following.

CPU = 7.5 Core i5 overclocked at 3.25 mhz
Memory = 7.9 G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 2000 MHz (PC3 16000)
GPU = 7.4 on both, ATI 4870 with 1gb of GDDR5 memory, OC'd
HDD = 5.9?? I have a RAID 0 with 2 WD hard drives that have 16mb of cache.. 7200 rpm. I just figured 2 would have at least a few tenths of a point higher than one...

LOL, man no one with SSD disks chiming in on this thread? I get a 7.4 overall, and will update this post with the individual component scores.

I finally got around to installing Windows 7 x64 RTM on my Macbook Pro. I had been triple-booting OS X, XP SP3 x86, and Win7 RC x64 for many months. The surprising thing is that my performance index changed for the better. Even though I had kept the nvidia driver up-to-date on Win7 RC, my score for graphics was still stuck at 4.9. Now it's 5.9!

Old scores:
Early 2008 Macbook Pro T9300 2.5GHz 6MB Penryn/Santa Rosa
2GB DDR2 PC2-5300 (333MHz) 5.0-5-5-15
Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT 512MB (185.85 driver)
Hitachi 200GB
Win7 x64 (7100)

Processor - 6.1
Memory - 5.5
Graphics - 5.5
Gaming graphics - 4.9
Primary hard disk - 5.5

New scores:

Processor - 6.1
Memory - 5.5
Graphics - 5.5
Gaming graphics - 5.9
Primary hard disk - 5.5

I'll probably upgrade to 4 GB RAM soon since some of the programs I use are memory hogs.
