so i set my voltage to 1.4375 in the bios and cpu-z reports it at 1.36 under load. that a droop of 0.0775! does anyone have a bigger droop than that??
 
after watching cpu-z while running prime95 for about 10 minutes my v jumps to 1.376v maybe once every 2 minutes for about 3 seconds but drops back down to 1.36v. so my vdroop would be 0.0615v if i use that number but most of the time it's staying at 1.36v
 
i crush you. i set mine at 1.525 in bios and got 1.40 under load a full .125 drop in vdroop - idling was 1.46v still a massive drop.

i was only using that voltage for testing, i dont use it 24/7

darn, i really thought id have one of the highest. i wonder if anyone will have one higher than yours.

i hate being the highest at this.

i would run a higher oc 24/7 if i didnt have to give it so much voltage at idle to survive under load.

me too. i found a guide to do a pencil mod on my mobo to get rid of the vdroop but i don't want to try it if i can't find anyone who already has to give me feedback.
 
1.4675 in bios, 1.320 in windows under loads on a P5K (non-deluxe) = .1475 almost TWICE yours.

On my old P965-DS3... with a quad, I set something like 1.45V in the bios and got around 1.30V under load.

My P35-DQ6 handles it much better.

1.1V-1.2V I lose about .15V from bios
1.2-1.3V I lose about .3V from bios
1.3-1.4V I lose about .4V from bios

But yeah... that DS3 was loosing 150mV... and about half that amount with a dual core.
 
cpu-z says that i idle at 1.408 and my load is 1.36 when set at 1.4375. does that mean that it would be safe to set it above 1.5 in the bios since it won't really go above 1.5 idling or under load? i want my cpu to run at 3.6 so bad i can taste it.

lol 1 week b4 my evga 680i crapped out.

Bios 1.55 actual Vcore 1.3Vcore real.

I had to put 1.55V in bios to run the stupid chip at stock. >:


680i is seriously a POS. Its sitting on my desk now after i rma'd it. Going to use it only for emergency purposes now.

im glad im not in that boat. this dq6 has done me well after 1 week with a frickin 650i and then with a p5b deluxe that both sucked.

after rma'ing two defective pita mobos in january, ill take my dq6 with vdroop. it is stable as a rock at least.

Yeap, mine is horrendous and gets worse the higher I go. The worst I've seen on my board
Bios 1.585 yeilded 1.41 idle 1.39 load
 
On my Rev 1 C1 P965-S3 I would set 1.5875V and I'd get 1.43V under load (measured with 3 different DMM.) This is on a L624A768 E6400 too. The saddest part was was that it'd only droop about .02V from idle to load.
 
My Asus P5B gives 1.17V to the CPU (under load) when I set 1.27V in the BIOS. A 0.1V Vdroop at such a low voltage is quite bad and it goes further downhill from there...
 
wow, I feel great about mine now. I'm at 1.52 in bios and 1.48/1.49 vdroop running 2xseti. oops, just blipped down to 1.47 for 1/2 second, that's a max .05 with .04 most of the time.
 
thanks for busting my bubble... 🙁 Doesn't the p5k deluxe have a feature that greatly limits vdroop? Why don't other mobos offer this?
