Banging the buck where it counts most!

Throw some heatspreaders on them :)

I bought them about a month ago for a cheap system I was building a friend. I was having some problems with the ram in my system, so I swapped it in there to test. I forgot I left the HTT at like 240ish when I put these sticks back in, and I realized it like 2 seconds later. I thought it would be fried, but nope, they held strong and booted right up.

Perhaps it was the magic 300fsb mark that made 2 sticks of CVS unhappy...

now priming the 144@2.61 290*9*(.75 divider)
2x512@217.5Mhz ram 2.5-3-3-7 1T

cpu down to 1.46v & ram down to 2.61v

load temps down 2c

oh yea and I flashed to 7.04BTA(ocz big toe) from 7.02

prime has been going for apprx 12h and still going!!

I've got a bad habit of not changing just one variable at a time (working on it)

THANKS ZIM!

it may just be an ego thing but I really wanted the "50% OC" in my sig-lol

I have 2x512 Corsair Value Ram as well. In a lame Biostar motherboard, my ram will hit 216FSB stable with no extra voltage. My case cooling isn't the greatest so I'd rather not put extra volts into the RAM without some decent RAM sinks (on the way soon ;)) but I'm still rather pleased with a matched pair that cost me less than $80 total including shipping.

One thing that is odd, though, is that (like someone else mentioned) even at a dramatic underclock I can't get the system to POST with the RAM set at CAS2. I'm not particularly worried since the default 2.5 is plenty fast enough for what I do, but it kind of looks like Corsair 'locked' this RAM at CAS 2.5...
