Post your Tualatin Celeron 1.0A overclock here!

As we all know, the new celerons with pentium 3 core, 256k cache and 0.13 micron technology are powerful, fast chips that overclock well. This is a place to post your o/cs...

I have got a 1.0a with pinhole vid mod @ 1.40 GHz (10x140), 1.7V, will POST at 150 but not stable.

a nice chip.

Yep, they are nice. My 1.0A reaches up to 1.55GHz, but it is unstable even in Windows 2000. It can run @1.54GHz all day long. The benchmarks under Sandra 2002 are:

CPU 4256/2074
Multi 8414/10444
Mem 1173/1141

All this at a Vcore of 1.8v. Upping it to 1.85v doesn't helps this particular CPU gain any more speed.

I'm only at 1333 on an Abit VT6 (voltage around 1.55 or so, with retail HSF). I know it'll POST at around 1.45GHz or so using maximum voltage the board can supply (around 1.6v), but I'm running it at 133FSB so that everything is at defaults except the CPU, and so it runs cooler. This is my "quiet" system. I have an Enermax speed-controlled fan that is turned down a bit. I've even gotten rid of the HSF on my Geforce 2 and replaced it with a honking huge heatsink w/o fan. This is the quietest system I've owned in years, except for a P4 I had briefly.

I picked up a Shuttle AV18E MB combo that included a Celeron 1.0gA chip for $89 the other day at Fry's. Looked around for an eval on the MB and found very little about it. Thought about just returning it as I would have preferred a 815EP based Motherboard rather than a Via Apollo Pro 133A. I decided to give it a try and just put it together a little while ago, and much to my surprise it actually seems to be a nice little board. Got the CPU running at 1.33g at default voltage and got these results with Sisoft Sandra 2002:

CPU 3685/1793
Multi 7284/9043
Mem 1015/989 (256 MB PC133)

PCmark 2002:

CPU 3361
Memory 1586
HDD 158 (Old 6G DMA33 Western Digital Drive)

hey !!! i need help immediately, so please answer... is this 1A ghz a celeron??? here is the link... 1A ghz

how can you call a chip "celeron" if it has a PIII core? and will this 1A

ghz on the intel's page work in tusl2-c? shorlty. is this 1A ghz a celeron or coppermine or tualatin? and will it work in tusl2-c??

thank you...

its tualatin celeron because of the increased cache, and .13 micron manufacture

it is indeed just the p3, NOT p3 tualatin which has 512 cache...

no, its a PIII

There is now very little difference between a PIII and a Celeron. The only major difference is 100/133 FSB. Other than that, same CPU.

Yes, it will work

Tualatin. You really dont want to buy the PIII 1A 133 FSB Tualatin. You can just buy a 1.0A Celeron Tualatin, set the FSB for 133 (or higher) and have a faster CPU for far less $$.

1.0A in an Aopen MX3S-T at 1.4 (1.65v) - next fsb setting is 144, does it stable but ram sets to 108.

Sandra Cpu 3837/1868
Sandra Memory 1032/1012

fast, cool running, cheap - brought me back from a year of water-cooled t-bird hijinx (fun and dangerous).

<< it is indeed just the p3, NOT p3 tualatin which has 512 cache.. >>

I think you're reversed.

OT: p3 tualatins (.13micron processing) both come in 256kb and 512kb flavors, the 512kb are called p3-s, and all p3 tualatins are 133mhz fsb

i just got a 1.2->1.4 default vcore, ill post up benchies later 🙂

edit: using vid1+vid2 mod (1.675v), i put 1.5ghz and it works@ 125mhz fsb (havent tried more), also my mobo no have vcore adjust 🙁

Sandra Cpu 4246/2025
Sandra Multimedia 8230/10216
Sandra Memory 434/459 <~~~???

edit#2: now @ 1.56ghz (130mhz fsb, 131mhz gave me errors 🙁)

Sandra Cpu 4365/2090
Sandra Multimedia 8453/10494
Sandra Memory 445/466

btw im using a SK6 + 60mm->80mm adaptor + Delta 80mm 38cfm/30dBa
