I started full-time work at age 21 in year 2005. Since then, I have received 4 raises/promotions:

2004 - $15/hr
2005 - $20/hr
2006- much more than 2005
2007 - 15% more than 2006

I work in industry IT.

im only 22, working my first real IT job....

first year, making ~45K

before this i worked at a grocery store making ~20K being a night shift manager.

What industry did you leave? Sounds like some sort of business/engineering.

I was a painting contractor, worked only on High End homes in the Bay Area CA, fell in love with computers, moved to TX to go into entry lvl tech support with a large computer company and now Im a PM (project manager) for them.

Life is Good!

PS. at times I do miss working on my feet, lol put on 40lbs in the last 4 years.

Got my job with this company in 2000 (straight out of school) and now make 2.5 times what I started. Keeps me happy
