Well so far it appears there are some bugs that bios and driver updates should mostly be sufficent to iron out and nothing glaringly disturbing, thanx for the posts and keep the issues coming :)

BTW, I just ordered a VANTEC AeroFlow VP4-C7040 so I can push this 2.4B SL6EF as high as it'll go with 1.7v as my max, so I'll post results of the P4PE/L's overclocking success with this chip and just how significant the AeroFlow w/ASIII is over the stock cooler&pad ;) I'm expecting a very significant improvement over the current base temp of 52c (SETI load)@1.525v and 2.7ghz, hopefully as much as 8-10c.

Well the reviews on the AerofFlow are excellent from a noise to cooling ratio performance but it won't out perform the Alpha so it looks like I can only expect between 4-5c improvement :( but hey, I hear this board reads a bit high and that should be enough cushion to use 1.7v without worrying about heat issue *crosses fingers* EDIT: I'm also over the whole removing the board to install alphas thing so I'll live with the higher temps ;)

I bought this board and installed it into my system. Usually when I replace a motherboard I delete the enum key from the registry to force it to install the new hardware and remove the old. I foolishly did not do it and and wasted alot of time recovering from crashes. Finally I just clean installed and everything now works great. The only thing that was a pain was the PNP kept installing the USB on my graphic card IRQ. I turned off some serial ports and now the usb has its own IRQs. When I bought it I thought it would include firewire ports but there are a few different versions of this boards and I got the one without the ports. This is my only disapointment with the board so far.

I just ordered a P4PE (w/Gigabit NIC) from Newegg.

I plan on using 2 512MB modules of Corsair XMS3200 (Cas 2.5) on the board. Has anyone tested this or two other 512MB modules?

Hi, about the Mobo, with a 2.53 P4 using that Aerflow could it be possible to O'clock it to 3.02? On Overclockers.com under CPU databse I put 2.53 and yield many people that have gone over 3 ghz. a few on stock fans. I will use some other nice fan but I was wondering if anyone had any expierences on the mobo and 2.53 O'clocking.

Only issue I have with my P4PE is that I cannot get the onboard lan to work.
Plugging in a cable gets both amber and green lights, but they remain solid.
It's like the NIC cannot receive a DHCP address.

I have the 10/100 Asustek/Broadcom 440x with driver dated 8/30/2002 and version 3.47.0.0.
Asus bios is 1002.

Email to tech support has yet to be responded.

Any ideas?

Mine worked as soon as I installed the driver. Maybe it's a bad cable or a bad switch port. Have you tried to assign an IP manually? Does another card work?

Edit: You might need to force 10Mbps or half duplex depending on your network hardware. Some stuff is picky with some NICs.

I should have been more specific.
I've tried 3 cables, all settings for Speed & Duplex, and both Linksys and Cisco routers.
Also tried assigning a manual IP.
All the above work with the Intel Pro/100 S I've been using.

I'm beginning to think it's a bad port.
