It doesn't want to install for me :( Tried Compatibility with XP SP3, Win95, Win98/Me... No dice.

Brings back so many memories though!

You have to install using a 32-bit OS. After that, copy the install directory over to the x64 system.

Yes was just going to post that. You can copy the FR folder over and run the program on any 64bit OS just use XP SP3 compat mode.

I ran it but even though I force VSYNC off the program still looks like vsync is on. I'm going to run it on the 300" movie screen and videotape it.

How did my pent 4 ,1.4 laptop with Intel graphics score a 16.40? :)
That does not make sense.

I remember running this test on my pent 2, 233, with a 16 meg TNT card.

I had around 22ish overall reality marks on a 2.5ghz Opteron and 7600GT. That was funny :)

Haha, wow. I posted that 4 years ago. It's a shame I don't have a 32bit OS to install this on, running Win7 64bit right now and it won't run. Unless, someone wants to post up a zip of the directory once installed?

Really never could figure out the old screen shot thing. ^_^

Easy way.

Ctrl/print screen.
Paste in paint.
Upload to your choice of site.
Example: Photobucket.
Copy image location here.
:)

I'm not saying it didn't score that. But I would however like to see it regardless.

I uploaded some photos i took with a web cam. Hope thats good enough.

The control /printscreen did not work for me.

Two important messages here for community as well as the poster:

1. The "no profanity" rule for tech forums includes no partial-bleeping of profane words.

F*** is NOT acceptable as the context is blatantly obvious as to what letters have been substituted with the asterisks. Learn to type frack or fudge or just avoid going there altogether.

2. No links to NSFW content in technical forums, ever.

This is a technical forum, not jr high.

Shouldn't you be NSFW'ing that? Enjoy, though :)

Posting guidelines clarification: No links to NSFW content in technical forums, ever.

You can download Final Reality from here. I remember my score being slightly above the baseline listed in this test about 8 or 9 years ago. lol

Here is my score. It's 33.03

Still works in Windows 7 x64 with XP SP3 compatibility, or else it will crash on exit. It can even work with 3x SLI!

Reminds me of how much Remedy is such a sell out to Microsoft whenever I see the Aesir Corp, Remedy, and Max Payne logos displayed throughout the benchmark.

Your score improved by 10% in 4 years? What am I missing?

Maybe I'm a PC noob or something but I don't remember that at all. I guess I was just too much into the PSX back in the day to care. Interesting none the less.

stil have this benchmark somewhere. Haven't ran it in a long while. Use to run it on my old win95 system way back in the day. Then my win98 system. This was originally "THE" benchmark to use circa 1998 or so.

Another oldie but moldie goldie was Aquamark that I used until 3Dmark hit the streets and became the defacto for a long time.

Ha! I got 3DMark 99 Max to work. You have to extract the files from the install executable using WinRAR or WinZip. After running the setup you have to copy ddraw.dll from windows system32 to the install directory and set compatibility to Win98/ME.

told me that my x64 win 7 version wasn't compatible with the fr file. ;(

Yes it must be installed on xp, for example and the target folder contents can be copied to a win7 x64 installation and the exe can be run from there.

That's how we got it to run here.

This benchmark shall never die. I ran it again and compared it to a previous run. Not sure what previous run. Maybe from my post in here.

With different performance requirements for gaming today, old benchmarks tend to be meaningless. Games today, stress different aspects of a GPU and CPU than they did back then. GPU's have advanced for the needs of today.

If only I still had that Athlon XP + 9600XT rig... Or even the good old K6-2 + TNT2. Oh well.
