hey, i was "just sayin"! adding that to the end of my statements, here or in IRL conversation, neutralizes anthing that precedes it. it's quite great actually
"No offense" & "With all due respect" accomplish the same thing.

With all due respect, NakedFrog is a douche, no offense, okay?

Now I'm not gonna pick out a Thermos for you.

I'm just sayin'

That's a sweet tune.

Brings back memories. Hard to tell but a lot of that was filmed in Central Park at the ad hoc roller rink. Back in the early nineties (and probably earlier) a group of people set up a sound system in Central Park on the weekends and an informal rink would form around it. It was a great people watching spot. It went downhill after there were noise complaints and they took it underground. It wasn't the same when everyone skating had on a walkman radio listening to the weak fm signal instead of the BOOM...

Those were the first words in my head: "Who the hell was in a roller rink in the 90's? Did they rip the boards off the doors or something?"

Now, the 70s! THAT was prime skating music. A 5th of Beethoven---dadada DUM!

someone needs to queue the famiy guy episode when Peter was supposed to pick up his kid at the rink, got drunk, skated with his buddies and the drove off without his kid...

oh...my favorite skate tunes were double dutch bus, stroke, some journey and REO Speedwagon....

best couple skate song -> Open Arms from Journey

skate races (two and fours) and skate in the opposite direction...Good times!!!

Stroke me, stroke me, STROKE! STROKE!
dude i heard that tune yesterday at the end of Billy Madison and it so reminded me of cruising the dirt roads in my '86 Cutlass!

Bliiy Squier is an underrated guitarist- that guy ROCKS. The problem came in when he got a publicist in the mid 80's that turned gay, and a lot of people got turned off.

Look at this mess of a video to see what I'm talking about.

Hokey Pokey. We had hokey pokey contests. Who ever could do it best without stumbling. I would always win cause I would pretend I was a shitty skater, then when the contests came around, I was put with the noobs

Dude Mr. Vain and Rhythm Is A Dancer were badass! Haven't heard these songs in forever. Last night while out with some buddies we were talking about the good old days and I brought up skating rinks.

Seriously I'd give anything to hit the reset button on life and make no major changes just as long as I had retention of what life would be like in the future so I could enjoy myself more. Hell, I'd give anything just to hit the reset button and enjoy all the public school years one more time. For the record, everyone who dogs on middle school or high school are just idiots who like to complain about shit. I loved every year of school. So much easier than life now.

My contribution would be No Mercy - Where Do You Go and Ace of Base - It's A Beautiful Life.

Edit: This thread would get 5 stars if the star system was still around. Even though it was totally pointless and I never paid attention to it, I'd use it for this one. Now I'm gonna spend all today wanting to cry and reminisce about the good old days.

I just thought of another one randomly. That one song that's got the synth intro, I think it's called Run Away and is also by No Mercy (and coincidentally has the line "Where do you go?" in it).

Edit: I was wrong, it's by Real McCoy.
