Well, we had 12 managers, so I kinda forgot (My first pick was M. Vick, and I was 7th to draft), we just try to randomly pick the best possible players, that we think will be good for our teams, regardless of possition. You don't want to just pick one possition, because by the time you're done, the other good players from other possitions are already drafted.
 
If you have a top 5-7 pick, always go with big time RB. Star RB's are harder to find that WR.

Now if you have like the last pick in the first round it becomes interesting, most likely big time RB's are gone, so I either would take a WR or depending on your league I would take Vick.
 
Our league made some interesting rules changes this year. Rather than require 2 starting running backs (which are usually in short supply), we have 1 starting running back and 1 flex position (RB, WR or TE). To help balance out RBs, WRs and TEs, we added points for receptions. That way, WRs and TEs who just get short yardage (lots of quick dumps over the middle) can still accumulate points.

Shockey will be OK, he only has a minor injury, and if Griffin sux, I can always change him out. I originally had Keenan McCardell as one of my starting WR, but, unless he gets off his ass, I'm just gonna bench him.
