Just tested this morning for a thread over in the console gaming forum, and while I thought I had a plan for 10Mb/1Mb from Roadrunner, I was actually getting over 15Mb/1Mb. I had heard rumors a few months ago that they were going to up the speeds, but I guess it happened without me ever knowing it.
phx, az qwest business 7mb dsl shared on my network, i get a bit more of the BW than most here tho. at home i regularly get 9500kbps on my 12mb cable tho.
Not necessarily capping, but they are using that "power-boost" stuff. Give you a short amount of very high speed, but then drop it down if it needs to be sustained.
Just to make things interesting, I tried this with the new Speed Test app on my iPhone.
When connected to WiFi at work: 9614 down/7143 up (Gotta love DS3 connections at work!)
When connected via 3G: 1553 down/253 up (Not bad... about the speed of a cheap DSL connection)
When connected via EDGE: 182 down/79 up (with wicked high latency)
