Sound Blaster Titanium HD line outs to

M-Audio AV 40s

Itunes music is ALAC

I got the card for $99 because there was a $30 rebate and it $50 on top of that. Speakers were $165.

I'll do a killer true 2 channel set up when I move and have a room free.

Hmm ... I have some old 1970s floorstanding speakers with dual 8inch woofers and dual 2inch tweeters hooked up to an early 1990s stereo reciever.

They sound pretty decent.

My work laptop currently has an old pair of Klipsch Promedia 2.1.

For my normal rig, I just picked up a pair of Swans M200MKIII and am pleasantly impressed with the sound quality. The mid-woofer has enough oomph in it to run through most music without losing much kick in the bass.

Obviously, the Swans don't have any very-low bass, and this was evident when playing my standard pipe organ tracks with 16-20hz fundamentals.

For Rock, Jazz, Classical, they are terrific. Anyone in the 400$ range should check these out if possible. For just over twice the price of the Klipsch Promedia 2.1, I can quite easily say that these exceed my expectation for what I construe as an appropriate amount of sound quality improvement for doubling of price. Put another way, I would take these over my former (many years ago) B&W 602s3 + amp setup which cost more.

Cheers!

Once upon a time I had the lowly Logitech Z-640's but the Sub died (POS System anyway)
So now I have a full stereo system at my desk (I wish there was more selection of Mini/Micro components, Not the POS so called Mini systems *Cough* Aiwa/Sharp *Cough*)

So now from the top of the stack

Kenwood KA-2000 (Circa 1967) I restored it by replacing the two Power Supply Capacitors and cleaning the switches

Sony Compact Disc Player Model CDP-211

Technics Stereo Cassette Deck Model RS-TR232

Ultrx/Sanyo R35 (Only used for the Tuner and the input switcher, as one of the STK Modules is blown So I can only get sound out of the right side)

And most important is the speaker system

I am using a pair of the Insignia (Best Buy) IS-SP3Way

They are decent efficient speakers and I can crank the Kenwood to the Number 4 or 10 o'clock position without distortion

Don't have a Sub but I feel I don't need one (plus in an apartment I don't want one)

Pics will follow

I've got same receiver/amp that I want to sell...wonder, how much I could get?
I replaced it with Yamaha 467 receiver, but I need preamp for turntable.
R35 I could connect turntable directly to amp.

Probably not much considering I pulled mine out of the garbage (Mine has a blown amp module though) So I am only using the tuner and the inputs, I have the tape out connected to the Kenwood and I use the R35 to select what I want to hear

They are X-statiks from the dead and buried av123.gone

Have them powered by an H/K AVR-247 via optical from my PC.

Wow, you using those with your PC!

I've never considered them for that duty, I use a set of Logitech 5500's, but I bet those X-Statiks sound great.

Sad that they are gone, I got in on a early production run of Signature edition X-Statiks, and a VOCE, and my wife won a pair of X-SLS's at a GTG. After I finally got a stand solution for the VOCE, I'm blown away with how they image! Honestly, I was a little let down with the X-SLS's, but they handle surround duty fine.

At one point I was running Onix X-MTM tower speakers paired with an Elemental Designs 12" A2-300 subwoofer. In my bedroom.

Bass overkill. Haha

Uh, because the rest of your room looks like shit? Put Diamond earings on Rosie O'Donnell and she's not going to turn into playmate of the year.
