I work at home full time and this is my office in the house. The Linux laptop is my work machine, which I use my desktop's mouse/keyboard through Synergy. When we had Windows for the OS, I was able to easily remote over on the same monitor. Remote Admin (Famatech) doesn't work on Linux so I have to do it this way since the other apps are sub-par in performance.

Oh and yes that's a windsurfer antenna on the router. Don't really notice any great improvement though.

is that desk i linked above the same one you all are talking about?

also wondering about the sturdiness of it, and if you can easily fit 2 monitors on it on one of the sides (looks like it but just verifying).

they have one in stock near me and it's on sale again for $99 so i may snag it up but just wondering about your opinion on it.

EDIT: oh ok i see you answered below thanks!

it's pretty sturdy? i like the design and need one for my new house for my office.

Yup that's it and yes it's sturdy even on carpet for us. The keyboard tray can go on either side.

Yes you can fit 2 monitors on it as long as they're not very wide. No that's not the same desk as I pictured... I am using a heavy wooden desk that has drawers.

cool i have 2 ws monitors i think 24". i only use 1 right now but i won't be needing my other one for what i currently use it and plan to use that for pc as well.

but at work i have one monitor directly in front of me then the 2nd is next to it to the right, and angled a bit at me.

i plan to use that corner desk and put my monitor on the left side so i think it will work fine.

going to call the local staples and see if they can hold it for me since the website says it's in "low stock".

do you recall at all how large the box is? i'm just wondering if it will fit in my car on the way home from work.

I barely remember but the biggest pieces are the 2 long pieces of glass (measured 3ft wide each) up top so if you have a regular sedan trunk that has back seats that fold down, you will be fine. Maybe even without fold down seats if it's wide enough.

okay cool thanks for the input. i got a g37s which has a tiny trunk that can fold down, but it's not very wide going into the back. but i think it is wide enough to fit that piece of glass.

I really don't get the fascination with craming a work area with as many monitors as you can fit in it.

I'll clean up an post a picture... but it will still be very cluttered.

Actually, looking at the picture, my desk is extremely cluttered - so no.

Found an old school pic. This probably dates back to 2004-2005 or so? Back when AMD 3200 Winchester was the SHEEET

i'm not a fan of the silver one, i like the black one better, and that is $99 on amazon for the one you posted.

i also like the keyboard tray on the staples one since it looks like the tray is the full width of that side of the desk, whereas the one on amazon is not as wide - i can see what you mean about the metal getting in the way.

either way they are 2 very similar desks. going to pick one up on the way home from staples. they have 2 left, would be surprised if they sell both of them by tonight at like 7:30. it's also $95 in store, but $99 online.
