Replaced crappy Nissan factory HU with a Pioneer DEH 9800-BT, I also upgraded the F/R door speakers but can't remember what they are, and I installed an amp and sub. Oh, I also got an iPod controller, integrated Sirius satellite radio and steering wheel controller. The only difference you'd see by looking at my car is the single DIN detachable face HU and the 1"x1" satellite pickup on the dash up near the windshield. Otherwise everything looks completely stock.

2006 Subaru WRX Factory stereo, i.e. the worst stereo equipped in any car since 1990.

5.25" front, with notebook paper cones.

4" rears.

All blown, therefore it stays off 99% of the time, no stereo=more Subie noises.

Dayton RS180S in the kicks running off Mtx 2300x
JL 10IB4 in the doors running Mtx 4300x

Use to run the RS180 as midrange and the 10IB4 as midbass with a 12" OZ superman IB firing into the bed but it took to much effort and equipment

Stock B[L]OSE system w/ rear deck 6x9s disconnected
MTX 8500 10" sub in a sealed box
Profile Audio AP1000 2ch bridged

When I get the money I'm ripping the whole thing out and starting from scratch.

Zune "Classic" 30gb into
Alpine CDA7995 (no internal amps, pure pre-out! 4v!) sends the signal to
"Twenty Inches Strong" 4-ch amp (it's not horrible - it does a real 30w RMS into each channel) powering
Kicker 3-way 6&1/4" in my front doors and stock Ford Audiophile speakers in the rear doors and a
Pyramid Audio PB-600 4 channel bridged amp powering
Kenwood KFC-110w 10" subwoofer in a generic sealed ~1 cu ft enclosure.

The sub could use a slightly bigger box. The amp running my 4 mains isn't really as bad as it sounds. It actually puts out pretty clean power, it sounds better then my old Sony Xplode amp (but that's not hard 😛 Plus it has a nifty red clear top and flashy red lights). Both amps live under my back seat and the sub fires down against the driveshaft hump in the backseat with about 3" of clearance.

I need to replace everything except my head unit.

Edit: Dynamat in all 4 doors, too.

for those doing car (and home audio) I would recommend checking out sounddomain.com, knukonceptz.com, partsexpress.com always before ordering stuff...and monoprice.com is a good place too.

I have picked up things like Streetwires and other high end cabling/ground/power blocks/interconnects going for $75+ locally for $10.

My wifes car is rocking a JVC Arsenal deck and I just picked up some Pyle PL63BL 6.5/6.75" triaxials for $32 for 2 pairs shipped. They have gone up a bit in price and they have the wrong picture up now, but are really a decent cheap speaker. The bass is a little lacking but the highs are nice and clear at even semi loud levels.

My wife is happy over her factory speakers, she doesn't play stuff loud like me though.
