Just got back from watching the Matrix 3, and I remembered why I hated watching movies in the theatre.

Some fat guy kept kicking my chair even though the theatre was made to have plenty of foot room. Asked him to stop, but he complained about how small the space was and said it wasn't his fault. I wanted to move, but me and my friends had good seats; it was packed.

A lady behind me kept yelling out "BOO" after every movie preview commercial.

I was saving a seat by putting my sweater on it, and some punk kid comes by and almost tosses it two rows over so he can sit down. I politely told him the seats were saved and he just threw my sweater down and walked off. That probably pissed me off the most.

I hate watching movies when things like that happen, but at the same time its a lot of fun, so it makes up for it.

So what are your bad movie experiences?

There's always a guy that laughs at everything and does it very very loud as if he's faking it. Some theaters have a roller coaster type thing on the screen (Regal) before the movie starts - and this type of guy is always good to pretend that it's a real roller coaster. He'll have his arms in the air and scream and lean to each side.

I seem to be a magnet for stupid couples to sit near me and, about every 10 minutes, the woman asks, "Why did he do that?" and the guy giving some really, stupid answer. :frown:

I went to see Blade II with some friends. The theater was packed, so they sat at the end two seats of one row, and I sat directly behind them with one seat on either side of me. The one directly on the aisle had soda or something on the seat, so I avoided it. Lights dim, previews begin. I think everything's OK, until.....

....Enter Hugo and Bertha, the 10-ton husband and wife team. I mean they were HUGE. Morbidly obese about covers it. Complete with giant popcorn and huge sodas. Guess where the first two available seats were.......

Anyone......

no?..........

Well, they were on either side of me :(. My nice comfy seat went to a horrendously cramped, very smelly, hot, 1/4 of a seat in the time it took both of them to sit down :(. I couldn't move, I couldn't breathe, and I sure as hell couldn't enjoy the movie. My friends found it hilarious. Especially when they started talking over me like I wasn't even there. Not to mention slurping their sodas and eating popcorn like there was free pie at the bottom of the tub. It was hell. From now on, I avoid situations like that - or, if faced with it again, I'm sitting in the sticky stuff. Dried up, sticky soda will come out of clothes. I swear the stench of those fat peoples' sweat followed me around for a week.

Was watching Matrix:Reloaded when this random guy sitting on my right started talking to me about the plot. He was asking me what's going on in the movie. I wanted to ask him politely (alright, not so politely) to shut up, but he is a big guy. Ignored him until I can't stand it anymore, and shhhhhed him, only having him shhhhhhing me back multiple times.

dumba$$ :/

I couldn't :(. The theater was completely full, except for one or two seats that I saw in the middle of the rows that had 150 coats on them. Besides, I was wedged in there like a wine cork. I could hardly move. Since the movie had started already, I didn't want to be that guy who wandered around up and down rows looking for a place to sit.

Was watching Matrix today...

A couple had brought their baby along with them. The baby kept crying thoughout the previews and wouldn't shut up. Someone asked politely to take the baby outside and the lady responded by saying "None of your business fvcking asshole". The more simplistic husband replied, "Fvck you". They somehow got the thing to shut up throughout the movie.

I was watching the ring with a buddy, it was about 45 minutes into the movie then all of a sudden I hear the door opening and a group of people talking and laughing loud. Now most people will quite down once they open the door, but oh no these guys kept talking away as they walked up the stairs. Now keep in mind this is a weekday and its pretty empty so they could pick any seat in the theater but they just had to sit a row above where we were sitting. So every few minutes you would hear them say Lets go get some popcorn and a soda or I have to go to the bathroom, etc... They weren't even attempting to keep their voices down and my friends bugging me to go get a manager to shut them up. After about 20 minutes of listening to them someone yells shut the fvck up. Then all hell breaks loose, the guys talking start arguing with the guy who said shut up and the rest of the people are screaming shut up you're ruining the movie. Someone runs out and next thing you know managers and security are running into the auditorium the movie stops and everyone has to leave. They gave us passes to see another movie but it was late and didn't want to start watching a new movie.

During Saving Private Ryan opening battle scene a bunch of guys behind me were laughing loudly and hysterically. They did shut up after I chewed them out.

During Empire Strikes Back re-release some guy let his 5 year old kid talk and shreik throughout the *entire* movie. Before that, some wackjob with a laser pointer was shining it all over the opening scenes.

One time there was this guy sitting next to me that had one of those silly cell phones with the custom antenna. He had it on silent mode or something and it was sitting on his belt strap facing me. EVERY 2 SECONDS the damn thing blinked with this incredibly bright blue light which I saw in my peripherial vision... it was really annoying me. I politely asked him to turn it off and he said "I can't, I'm waiting for a really important call." WTF are you doing sitting in a movie then moron?

I remember back when I went to see The Matrix:Reloaded, some guy a few rows back kept farting very loudly and laughing about it. The whole theatre was packed and everyone kept yelling at him to stop. I'm surprised a riot didn't break out. There is nothing worse than having to smell a stranger's absolutely rotten fart numerous times while trying to enjoy a movie.

The increasing rudeness, self-centeredness, and lack of consideration that seem to be increasing on a daily basis in others has gotten so bad I almost refuse to go to theaters these days unless the movie demands the large screen viewing for true enjoyment.

the worst thing that has happened to me is when I saw underworld, placed my coke in the holder, guy sits next to me, places his elbow on the cup when he sits down so it spills on me and my seat, still I enjoyed the movie :)

Yeah, I guess it's directly proportianal to the kind of movie you're seeing. Younger crowd vs. older crowd...

Anyway, I've recently become a big fan of the home theater system.
