I'd be surprised if more than a picayune fraction of the mailed ballots aren't received by then. The problem for Wisconsin is not that. It's that they don't allow the mail-in ballots to be counted until election day which is very stupid.

I could be mistaken, but didn't WI, or was it MN, ruled that mailin ballots if NOT received by Nov 3rd, even if post marked prior to their due date to be mailed back, would not be counted, ie, discarded as in not valid because they were not received prior to poll closing?
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I don’t usually do the EC prediction but I’ll say at the very minimum Biden gets 365 and will win by a minimum of 7 million votes.

However, I think it will be closer to 400 EC votes and a popular vote win of over 9 million.

That's true for many states-

I have two predictions.
1. I predict Biden will win.
2. If prediction 1 is correct, I predict America will invade Syria and kill Assad in the next four years.

I am going to try and remember this post so I give an I told you so if I am right. If I am wrong, I will pretend this post never happened.

I think Biden takes the pop vote by 7 million but loses the EC still. Turnout will be high everywhere, just not enough in the states that matter. The GOP has made huge strides this cycle in narrowing the new voter registration gap in swing states that Trump already won last time.
I think all the Hunter Biden stuff, new unrest in Philly and DC, etc are all going to be hurtful to Biden. This election also breaks the polling industry, at least for general elections.

I just hope the unrest afterwards is minimal, as I know a lot of people are going to be angry at such a large popular vote/EC discrepancy. I hope our better angels prevail.

Biden’s popular vote will exceed 10million. Biden will net more than 5million out of CA alone. He will net close to 3million out of NY. Trump has no state where he can post those sizes of popular vote gains. Texas and Flordia are dead even. The remaining Blue states are more populous than remaining red states.

Biden will easily top 75million votes if turn out holds to the estimated 150million voters. Trump still won’t win more votes than Obama did in 2008 or 2012.

In a free and fair election with the USPS running at full capacity, polling stations open at a rate before the fascist republican Supreme court gutted the voting rights act, and without other voter suppression tactics of the anti-democratic right-wing, this would be a popular and EC landslide for Biden.

As it stands now, it's gonna be close.

I'm still really nervous. I think this may very well happen.

Maybe they're talking about the idea of the state legislatures ignoring the vote totals and picking their own electors?
Probably the EC winner wins 270 EC votes with 1 person voting for them in each of the those states while 100% of the state’s that equal 268 vote for the other guy.

~30 votes vs 100M + votes

Probably won't happen...but I think a blow out win by whoever ends up winning would be the best thing.

1). Decreases the chances of it going to the courts
2). Regardless of your "side," I think most of us would at least take some small comfort that this is the will of the people, most people wanted this, and this is the direction we're moving in as a country, etc

I fully realize that the winner take all EC means that this can look deceiving on paper, as with 2016 a small handful of swing state votes made the difference. But probably still better than a narrow EC win that will likely end up in the courts and spawn distrust and a bunch of conspiracy theories, possibly even violence as one side claims they were robbed/stolen/etc. And specifically in Biden's case, a narrow victory like that almost certainly ensures that he would be a one-term president.

I'm putting A LOT of trust in the common sensed side of America. Hoping that a majority of Americans can still tell the difference between good and not good, between right and not so right, and knowing a con when they see one. America, don't let me down. :confused_old:
It appears that it's the women that will save us more than the men, at least among Caucasian populace. What is it about the white boys? We have environmental crises escalating more and more year after year, we are facing the worst pandemic in 100 years and on the highest level are barely acknowledging at all how to deal with it, the guy in charge just hopes it'll go away and let HIM dominate the conversation. Nuts Boy has to go.
