Im finally thinking of a 1.6a cuz im selling off the p3 rig and left over hardware for about $650. And I got a 1.6a from googlegear.com for my friend and it only got to 2.2Ghz. I was disapointed and dunno what kind it was but I figured googlegear might have some crappy ones. Post your highest stable oc, where you got it, and where it was made ... Thanx!

ok, here's the info for my P4-1.60A GHz cpu:

1600 @ 2640 MHz

using a fsb of 165 stable

running Samsung PC2700 512mb 333 DDR ram at 440 DDR

chip made in the Phillipines

i am using the retail hs/fan using 1.70v

i got it at newegg last week for $139 shipped... not too shabby, eh?

I've got mine at 157fsb, so that's a little under 2.5GHz. I think I'm doing something wrong tho as it won't go any higher... Perhaps it's the motherboard, I'm using an abit bd7II-r and another person i've talked to can't get his to go any higher either... I bought my chip from newegg too btw. What motherboard are you using metrorider?

Sweet .... defently newegg then ... and for the mobo i was thinking of the asus p4S533 for the memory dividers. I dunno yet im not getting the money for about a week or so, i have a wile to think about it

i'm running a 'silent' system right now - The only fans in here are a silencer on the CPU and the two fans on the PSU. Sometimes I'll turn on a panaflo in the rear port, but quite honestly, it doesn't appear to make much of a difference.

@ 2.1g (133fsb) the system is idle 42 C and 100% goes to 50 C or more.

currently @ 2.24g (140fsb) i'm at 48 C idle and pretty much reach 60+ C using CPUburn and running lots of stuff at the same time.
stability is through a 10% CPU voltage, 2.6v DRAM voltage, and locking the PCI bus at 33mhz.

gonna go for 150fsb right now...
