Can anyone beat this? I once predicted all graphics cards would have the same form factor and generally look the same as the AMD Radeon R9 Nano. Yes I really predicted this was the future of GPUs

I didn’t really make this prediction on the forum. But I thought the 256 bit memory bus would have made a bigger difference on the RTX 4070ti S vs. the 192 on the other RTX 4070 variants.

Don't feel bad. I bought a 450W psu a few years ago because I thought all midrange cards would be ~120W. Though it was a good enough psu (BitFenix Fomula Gold 450) it ran my RX 6700 XT fine lol.

You both saw a better future that didn't come to pass.

It has been a trend in compute to get bigger and bigger not only in the pursuit of higher performance, but a diminishing return for more work.

Compute GPUs are going to reach 2KW in the not-so distant future. Yes, a single "GPU" will use more power than a 110V North American power socket is capable of delivering.

After Turin/Granite Rapids, server CPUs are going 600-700W. 1KW is maybe a generation or two from that.
