Our 7 year old dog had that recently, but damn, it was actually not cute at all, I was quite worried. It didn't help that it was after midnight, she's just sitting there, then starts doing that. First thing in my mind: congestive heart failure? Oh please, don't be that.

She never had that (while we were present, at least), and it hasn't happened since, so I and our vet-tech friend (who routinely works with our pup at our vet) just assume it is a case of the hiccups.
