almost makes me want to try and keep a budgie, except they are so friken delicate that the fumes from a teflon cooking pan could kill them.
Insects and Arachnids are the same way, I read about it when I first got my Chilean Rosehair Tarantula. As long as you don't 'burn' dry Teflon pans, it's nothing to worry about.

teflon is just one example, the lack of body mass means any sort of chemical from common household product can seriously affect their health. im in a multi unit building so anyone on the other floors could easily put something into the common air or even through the drafty walls. Luke from LTT has chronicled his bird's health problems over the years on the wan show podcast.

we had parakeets when i was a kid, keeping one or two isnt really fair to what is a colony animal. i dont have the gumption to do it properly and keep 4-6 of them.
