I'm hoping someone can help me. I recently purchased an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro and when I plugged it into my machine, it won't even POST, just a blank screen. When I put my old video card back everything works. Here's the type of system I have:

Abit KT7A-RAID
(2) Hard Drives
(1) DVD Burner
(1) DVD ROM
(1) Dazzle Video Capture Card (DVC-II)
Soundblaster Live Sound Card
NIC card
Antec 300W Power Supply
Floppy Drive
USB Mouse
USB Printer

I would appreciate any help anyone can extend. Thank you.

Power connector connected?
Old card nvidia? If so old drivers uninstalled and then driver cleaner used prior to installing 9800p?
Power supply may be marginal if it is a no name brand with all those drives you have. Try disconnecting power to some of them and see if you get a boot.

I've uninstalled the old drivers from Windows XP. Updated BIOS for motherboard, and chipset too. Power supply is an ANTEC 300W.

In other words, have you connected the 4pin 5v molex connector to the 9800 pro?

when you start up the computer,
have the case open and look at the fan on the video card
does it spin?

did you ever get this resolved? If so please post resolution for others. If not, then unplug the other devices that are not needed at bootup and try it. I'm thinking not enough power!

I ended up returning the Videocard to best buy and purchased a new one. Still waiting on getting a new motherboard just to be safe. Hopefully won't have any problems with a new MB and powersupply.

beemer. did you ever get this to work? I have the same configuration. kt7araid, amd processor, 9800 pro and the antec. I have switched power sources to no avail. I need answers. ATI does not offer refunds.
