The one at Atlanta Hartsfield airport is on the list. No more mailing crap home from the airport!

Fuck you Yahoo, is it really that hard to link to the actual site mentioned in the article and not the fucking Yahoo search?

Man, I wish they would close (or really, move) the main one in my city. It's on the main street, which has no turn lanes, and it constantly screws up traffic with people trying to turn into it. And of course the parking lot is too small, so there's often a line bleeding out into the street.

Damn... 3 out of the closest 5 locations to my house are on the list. :( Fortunately there's still one location fairly close that isn't.

Before I even look, I'd bet that mine is on the list.

Wow! It's not. I also would have suspected St. Bonaventure's. Only college campus (afaik) in the U.S. with its own post office branch on campus. 2000ish students.

Because the article has something important like this.... "The list of possible closures has been sent to the independent Regulatory Commission for review, "and officials say more may be added."".........

and "Of course, all of this is subject to change. Some offices may be spared, while others may be added to the list of doom"

The direct link may implied that if a location is not on the list, it is safe..and it is not true.

Honestly, I wish they'd ban unsolicited mail like they have unsolicited email, it's far more annoying...the only reason they don't is it is the only thing keeping the post office in business.

SC State has one complete with PO boxes and everything and it's an HBCU

See that there is one on the list I was expecting to close in the former city I lived in. It was inside a bank, always dead quiet. Was nice and quick to get those FSFT shipments out though.

I thought you lived in my city. We have the exact same thing.

Mine's not closing but two in adjacent communities are on the list, which means the lines at mine will get even longer than they are now.

couple near me are but not surprised, most of them are on military bases that have either shut down or the military has moved out.

Seems like a lot of them are on military bases.

And I noticed a lot in high growth areas like FL and CA I am guessing they expanded too fast when they built all the nice pretty ones in the 80s/90s.
