I had a bad stomach flu last week, starting Tuesday, and now it looks like I'll be okay by early next week. I've been doing the Stronglifts 5x5 for about a month now, I actually did a workout on tuesday morning (I felt fine until that night), and I'm wondering if I should lower the weights a bit for a workout or two, and by how much. I'm hoping to be able to eat again either today or tomorrow - I'm not hungry yet, but food looks good again (if that makes sense). I know I've probably lost a lot of strength in the last four days. When last healthy, here's where I was at:
Squat - #255
Bench - #215
BB Row - #165
OH Press - #140
Deadlift - #325

Well, it depends. Go in and see where you think you're at. If you're sick at all, don't lift. Anaerobic exercise can suppress your lowered immune system and you could just get more sick potentially. Plus on top of that, you're just gonna dirty the bars and workout equipment and potentially get others sick. You wanna start a bit lighter, but if you're fully recovered, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to do some similar weights.

I think I'm just weakened by the ordeal at this point, not a "carrier", but I think I'll start off at ~20% less weight to start, even if I feel heroic.
All systems are not normal yet, gastrointestinally, but god it was nice to be able to get even 6 hours of sleep last night.

It's probably a good idea. Also, doing some light cardio may help you get rid of the illness faster. I always try to go for a slow, 3 mile run when I get sick.
