Post a self portait!

Nice picture. I was trying to take one with a tripod right now, but their is so little light in my room I keep moving my body too much (3 second exposure even with ISO 1600...)

flash

A single flash for portraits sucks. Striaght on and you get the deer in the headlights look (unless you can dial down the flash or have good diffusion), from the side and you get unflattering shadows cast on the other side, bounced off the ceiling/floor and you get unflattering shadows...natural light FTW

I'll try that again tomorrow. With low ISOs the on-camera flash (I should probably buy an SB-x00) gives a vignetting effect, but maybe with 1600 it will be able to cover the whole frame. I'll try this tomorrow. Thanks.

hes trying to do it in his room, thats not exactly seeking perfection IMO, and uoi can get fine portraits withjust 1 flash, you just need to take it off camera and bounce it
