It's so freakin efficient I don't ever want to format!

Mine's more efficient, and I can replicate it anywhere pretty easily. :D

</penis-comparison>

Bet I can open photshop faster than you!!:Q

Well, considering I can't even run photoshop.. :p

Gimp.

C+A+X, gimp&exit <enter>

And of course, I don't run gimp all the time, so I don't have any dedicated shortcuts/aliases for it. Could be faster. :p

mine is even more efficient. Can't beat: open shell, type first 2 letters of command and then <tab> <tab>
:) ;)

yes I can. one click. Voila! If I want to edit a picture in photoshop, I drag the picture ontop of the icon and photoshop opens and loads the pic automatically

No, I was just calling you a gimp. :p

I think I actually installed the gimp recently. Probably how I got the screen shot.

I don't know. I use to be a command line junky myself but thanks to many fps's I'm pretty damn fast and accurate with my pointer.

Here's my recent desktop with more relevent icon grouping.

Ha! I can make fun of you on IRC faster than you can do something worthwhile in photoshop!

I think this is about as unix-ish as windows gets.

Note the stuff that's sitting on the desktop and running on the taskbar.

A bunch of gui apps? That's not very unix-ish. ;)

In my late days of using windows, I had gotten rid of my taskbar and was using something called I think DesktopX.

I think cygwin and perl and python add more unixiness than remove the taskbar does. :p

Yeah I know, that was beside my point. I didn't even really know what unix was at that point.

One thing that's interesting to note from all these desktop pics is that it would appear as though people are indeed moving away from Internet Explorer and have started to embrace FireFox as their web browser of choice.

>>> at the very least, the FireFox icons are there :)

I agree it's a good thing... or a bad thing. Although I still keep IE handy for those few pages Firefox doesn't render correctly.

I keep IE handy for certain things (like managing built in ethernet/firewall on my mobo) and for some sites, but I use FireFox for just about everything else.

Yea - i've come across quite a few situations/sites where FireFox just doesn't appear to do a very good job compared to IE in displaying the contents of a page in a nice format. That's always annoyed me, but im sure that in time more and more sites will start to become FireFox friendly/compatible, just as at the present moment the majority are IE friendly.

I don't think it's unfair to say that for the first time, IE has some serious competition in the web browser sector.

EDIT:- my web blog page is a good example of a page thats formatted very differently in FF and IE - looks much better in IE. The html for the layout was basically that of one of the templates available that was then tweaked somewhat, although the original structure is the same.
